2016年1月に他界したデヴィッド・ボウイはミュージシャンや俳優としての顔だけでなく、アート・コレクターとしての側面も持っていた。そのコレクションがロンドンのサザビーズで2016年11月、「ボウイ/コレクター」と題したセールで公開された。サザビーズ・ヨーロッパの取締役会長オリバー・バーカーは同セールについて「多彩で、自由で、飾り気がない。デヴィッド・ボウイのコレクションは、20世紀最大の創造的精神の持ち主の一人の個人的な世界観を垣間見ることができるまたとない機会」とのコメントを残している。本書は、当アートコレクションのオークションカタログ３冊セット「ボウイ/コレクター」は、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、香港、ロンドンでのみ開催された。日本にはない貴重なカタログ。David Bowie died in January 2016 was not only a musician and actor but also an art collector. The Sothebys collection/sale at London in November 2016 titled "Bowie/The Collector". Oliver Barker, chairman of the board of directors of Sothebys Europe, said of the sale: "Varied, free and unadorned, David Bowies collection is a unique opportunity to get a personal glimpse into the personal worldview of one of the greatest creative minds of the 20th century." This book is three auction catalogues of this art collection. "Bowie/The Collector" was only shown in Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong and London. A valuable catalogue that cannot be found in Japan.
